Employee Relations Supervisor

Job Summary

The Employee Relations Supervisor will support the HR and Operations Teams by providing advice on employee relations issues, conducting employment-related investigations and training, attending wage and unemployment hearings and union grievance meetings.

Position Requirements

  • Investigate employee complaints regarding harassment, discrimination, payroll issues, fraud, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain complaint tracking system.
  • Utilize independent judgment and best practices in conducting investigation and recommending resolutions for HR Manager approval, write investigation summaries and reports.
  • Work with management on employee performance issues, support progressive discipline, guide supervisors, and where necessary, prepare documentation for HR and legal review as required.
  • Provide general guidance to managers and supervisors regarding labor and employment law compliance, wage/hour laws, sexual harassment and discrimination prevention, etc.
  • Deliver training programs as needed.
  • Assist in resolving employee relation issues and facilitating conflict resolution between employees and supervisors.
  • Updating the employee relations procdures.

Education/Training

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Knowledge/Experience

  • Requires 2-4 plus years progressively responsible HR experience.
  • Current working knowledge of employment law and regulations including.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and working with all levels of an organization.
  • Experience in a union environment a plus.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Professional & ethical demeanor.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods
