Job Description

Finance and Reporting Supervisor is responsible for identifying and initiating projects to improve business performance and implement strategies to achieve financial goals. The incumbent works with executives to set-up and coordinate financial modeling and reporting.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Complete the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting. With the accounting entries, the preparation of the monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS, provides variance analysis, researches financial irregularities, and uses the analysis to develop meaningful financial reporting.
  • Provides support to monthly financial closing, business reporting and modeling of alternatives to support the leadership make appropriate financial business decision making, and sound, innovative planning in managing the division’s financial affairs.
  • Provide financial inputs and collate the formulation of the business operating plans and annual budget.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and verifies various business transactions including all revenues, expenses, and accruals,performs investigations and complex analyses of data.
  • Maintain the accounting records, reviews general ledger for accuracy and provides periodic updates, variance analysis and performance reports to Finance Controller.
  • Performs constant monitoring of financial and accounting requests and submissions to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Supervise the activity of accounting staff,monitor and refine performance goals and objectives of accounting staff and provide them on job training.
  • Responsible for adhering to the internal controls and implementation of the company policies.
  • Identify and ensure implementation of process and system enhancements to continuously improve operations in the accounting office.
  • Coordinate in the annual audit prepares audit schedules and provides information to the auditors, as requested.

Desired Qualification and Skills

  • University degree in accounting discipline andrecognized Professional qualification of CA, AACA, CPA or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS.
  • Ability to deal with complex accounting issues.
  • Good IT skills especially MS Office and working knowledge of ERP.
  • Advance Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
  • Ability to analyse, evaluate and communicate clearly and logically both in writing and orally.
  • Organizational ability, meeting targets and deadlines. Able to cope with peak periods and high volumes.
  • Confident and able to get on with and approach staff at all levels.
  • Problem solving, being proactive and able to identify and implement improvements.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in written and spoken English.
